The Cycle Perpetuates
Still ongoing is anti-Asian violence.
The cycle of hate cannot be broken.
It just perpetuates until it finds the next source as fuel.
Every group gets a turn.
Black, Asian, Muslim, Christian.
LGBTQIA, immigrant, homeless, diseased.
Definitely not an exhaustive list.
Everyone falls into a group. Some people are part of many groups.
Some conflicts take a lifetime to sort out, while some would never be abolished.
I know it’s not that simple, but my wish is for us to remember that we all want the same things.
To have our basic needs met, to feel love and be loved, to be shown respect and appreciation, to have unconditional support and acceptance.
One day, I hope the question isn’t which will be the next group du jour for the cycle.
But rather, how do we find common ground and forge ahead, creating what we want, together?
